Monks finish with Another Impressive Season

The Saint Joseph's College Women's Soccer team finished another impressive season with a 12-6 record, winning the Northeast Regional Independent Championship for the second straight year, beating Green Mountain College (VT) for the title. The Monks had four players named to the All-Tournament team including Tournament MVP Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA). First-year starter Megan Willette (Waterville, ME), junior goalkeeper Krista Wotherspoon (New Gloucester, ME) and senior midfielder Kerri Driscoll (Surry, ME) were also named to the All-Tournament team.

The Monks were led all season by the first-year scoring duo of Megan Willette and Katie Jordan. The two combined for 86 points in 18 games ranking the Monks eighth in the nation in scoring. Their play led to Megan being named National Independent Player of the Week three times and Player of the Month in the month of October. Megan also finished first in scoring for all Independent colleges nationally and fifth in the Nation for NCAA.

In addition, Megan was recognized as the Division III National Independent Offensive Player of the Year and named as a First Team member. Joining Megan on the First Team are sophomore defender Jillian Leger (Westminster, MA) and junior goalkeeper, Krista Wotherspoon. Senior midfielder Kerri Driscoll and first-year Katie Jordan earned Second Team honors.

The Monks' coach Michael Bolanz (SJC '00) earned his second straight Coach of the Year Honor.
