Willette’s Overtime Goal Lifts St. Joe’s Over UMF

FARMINGTON, ME - First-year player Megan Willette's (Waterville, ME) overtime goal in the 98th minute gave Saint Joseph's College a 2-1 win over host Maine-Farmington. St. Joe's improves to 5-3 overall.

After a scoreless half, Farmington got on the board first as Erin Campbell finished a pass from Julie Walters in the 57th minute. First-year Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) evened the score at 63:00 with a half volley from the top of the box.

Senior Danielle McLaughlin (Skowhegan, ME) drove a shot off Farmington keeper Alix Raymond and Willette scored the game winner off the rebound with less than three minutes to play in the overtime period.

Keeper Krista Wotherspoon (Gray, ME) recorded 7 saves for St. Joe's in her intercollegiate soccer debut.

St. Joe's takes on Mitchell College at 1:00 on Saturday, October 1st at home.
