Wenham, MA - The Monks were shut-out 3-0 by Gordon College (9-4) yesterday and drop to 7-5 overall. Sophomore Hannah Hassler (Westford, VT) scored the game-winning goal in the 24th minute.
Junior Amy Colwill (Wheaton, IL) made it 2-0 with a goal at 34:19 to give Gordon a comfortable lead at the half. The Fighting Scots held the advantage first half shots (7-2) and corner kicks (7-0). First year Emily Purinton (Boxborough, MA) scored the final goal of the match to make it 3-0 at 57:13.
First year Monica Cuda (Everett, MA) made three saves in the loss. St. Joe's was led by the strong play of first-year Anna Willis (Gorham, ME) and first-year Kelsey Stewart (Windham, ME) provided a spark off the bench.
The Monks play at New England College (NH) on Tuesday, October 17th at 3:30 PM.
