Monks Win Home Opener, 1-0

STANDISH, ME - Senior Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) scored the only goal of the contest in the 12th minute to help lead Saint Joseph's (1-2, 1-0 GNAC) past conference rival Lasell College (0-2, 0-1 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon. Junior goalkeeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) made five saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

St. Joe's outshot the Lasers 18-12 and managed to place 13 of those shots on net versus only five shots on goal by Lasell in the contest.

Sophomore Mikayla Call (Portland, ME/McAuley HS) recorded four shots on net while teammate Stephanie Masters ‘12 (South Portland, ME) steered three shots on goal in the conference victory.

Lasers goalkeeper Elizabeth Stickley '12 (Scituate, MA) made 12 saves in the loss.

Saint Joseph's is set to play host to non-conference foe Thomas College on Sunday, September 14th at 1:00 PM. Lasell College will host New England College on Monday, September 15th at 4:00 PM.
