Needham Earns Top Honor for Second Consecutive Week

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors have been released and women's soccer standout Jessica Needham '11 (East Bridgewater, MA) has been named Player of the Week for the second consecutive reporting period.

Needham tallied the game-winning goal in both of the Monks' victories last week; a 4-0 triumph over University of Maine-Farmington on September 9th and a 2-1 win over Emerson College on September 11th. The senior forward netted a goal and an assist in the Emerson match and broke the program's career record for game-clinchers with an 82nd-minute tally in the come-from-behind victory.

In three games this fall, Needham has registered four goals, three assists and 11 total points for the 3-0 Monks. With two game-winners this year, she surpasses Megan Willette, who scored nine clinchers in two seasons, as the program's all-time leader in the category.

Saint Joseph's will play at Pine Manor College in a conference contest on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
