STANDISH, Maine – #4 Saint Joseph's College (9-8-1, 9-3-1 GNAC) will host #5 Regis College (10-5-2, 9-3-1 GNAC) in a 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinal at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29th.

  • Junior forward Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone (Winthrop, Maine) has enjoyed a breakout season with 10 goals and 23 total points; she leads the team with three game-clinching tallies
  • Sophomore Alicen Burnham (Monmouth, Maine) has four goals and 10 points while junior Tatum Hancock (Damariscotta, Maine) and freshman Lelia Weir (Bar Harbor, Maine) have notched three goals apiece this fall

Regis:

  • Senior forward Hailey Lovell (Wakefield, Mass.) leads the Pride in goals (7), assists (8), points (22), game-winners (4), shots (53), and shots on goal (22)
  • Sophomore Sara Costa (Ludlow, Mass.) has potted five goals and senior Aria Ulmer (Henniker, N.H.) has produced four markers this season

KEEPER COMPARISON:

In her first season as a starter, junior Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine) has posted a 1.70 goals against average with a .804 save percentage after making 111 saves and allowing 27 goals in 1428 minutes. She ranks second in the conference in wins (9), fourth in minutes, and fifth in saves.

Regis has featured a pair of freshman keepers this fall, as Cassidy Van Cott (Santa Monica, Calif.) sports a 0.86 GAA and a .830 save percentage in 945 minutes and Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) owns a 0.57 GAA and a .889 SV% in 472 minutes.

THE LAST TIME WE MET:

Saint Joseph's edged Regis, 2-1, in the Monks' final regular season home game last Saturday. Wilson-Falcone and Michaud hit pay dirt for the Monks and Downey made five saves in the victory. Ulmer scored the Regis goal in the 82nd minute and Mazo turned away six shots in the losing bid.

St. Joe's held the advantage in shots (23-11) and shots on goal (9-6) while both sides were awarded three corner kicks on the afternoon.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improved to 4-0-1 all-time versus Regis College.

POSTSEASON HISTORY:

The Monks have advanced to the GNAC postseason in 14 of 15 seasons and have played in the semifinal round on six occasions, including 2021 when St. Joe's fell to Lasell University by a 2-0 margin.

Regis, which began play in the GNAC in 2017, is 0-3 in postseason play with first-round losses to Emmanuel (1-0), Johnson & Wales (5-0), and Lasell (1-0).
