Gallop Claims GNAC Rookie of the Week Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman forward Sydney Gallop (Hermon, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Gallop recorded a goal and an assist in two Saint Joseph's victories last week. She assisted on a strike at Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday and netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 3-1 GNAC quarterfinal victory over Regis College on Saturday.

In 15 games this season, Gallop has scored three goals with one assist for seven total points. The GNAC weekly accolade is the first of Gallop's career.

Saint Joseph's, the #4 seed in the GNAC Tournament, will play at top-seeded Johnson & Wales University in a semifinal contest tonight at 7:00 PM.
