PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Saint Joseph's College (2-4-1, 2-2-1 GNAC) suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of Johnson & Wales University (5-0-3, 5-0-0 GNAC) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer matchup on Wednesday evening.
JWU junior Angelina Oliveira opened the game scoring at 9:20 mark and, after an SJC own goal in the 39th minute, made it a 3-0 game with her second tally of the night at the 60:19 mark. Freshmen Sophia Warburton and Ava Wilder closed out the game scoring with markers in the 62nd and 66th minutes, respectively.
Saint Joseph's senior goalkeeper Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine) made 15 saves in the losing effort. Senior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) led the Monks with four shots against the Wildcats.
Saint Joseph's will play at Norwich University on Saturday in a conference contest slated to start at 7:00 PM.
