Six Monks Earn CSC Academic All-District Accolades

STANDISH, Maine – Six student-athletes - Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine), Tatum Hancock (Damariscotta, Maine),Claudia Janelle (Biddeford, Maine), Eliese Perron (South Portland, Maine), Randi Robinson (Hollis, Maine), and Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) - from the Saint Joseph's College women's soccer program have been selected to the College Sports Communicators' 2023 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

Downey, a senior goalkeeper and Nursing major, earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second-consecutive season after starting all 18 of the Monks' games this fall while posting a 1.85 goals against average and .759 save percentage with 104 saves in 1,603 minutes between the posts.

Hancock, a senior forward, netted four goals with two assists and finished the 2023 season ranked second on the team in goals and points while starting all 18 games this fall. The Elementary Education major has earned a pair of GNAC All-Academic accolades during her career.

Janelle, a senior defender, notched a pair of assists this fall and finished her career having started in all 58 of the Monks' games over the last three seasons. The Nursing major earned CSC Academic All-District honors last year and is a two-time GNAC All-Academic honoree.

Perron, a sophomore forward and Health & Wellness Promotion major, scored three goals – including a pair of game-winners - and dealt an assist for seven total points while starting 15 games during the 2023 campaign.

Robinson started 17 games as a senior defender and played in 45 games over three collegiate seasons. The Psychology major also earned CSC Academic All-District honors last year and is a two-time GNAC All-Academic selection.

WilsonFalcone, a senior forward, tallied a team-high 10 goals for 20 total points with three game-winning tallies during the 2023 campaign. The 2023 Third Team All-GNAC and 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-Region honoree capped her career with 25 goals – including seven game-clinchers - with seven assists for 57 total points in 58 games across three seasons. The Medical Biology major took home CSC Academic All-District accolades last year and is a two-time GNAC All-Academic honoree.

The 2023 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links provided below.

In order to be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches or must start in at least 66 percent of the matches. Additionally, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
