GNAC Swimming Championship DAY 2 Preliminary Results Available

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College swim teams continued the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimming Championships at Simmons College with the second preliminary round on Sunday morning.

Overall, the Saint Joseph's men and women combined to post times worthy of advancement into the finals in 18 events; 12 by the women and six by the men. The finals begin at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium at 4:00 PM.

 

Day Two Preliminaries:

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Annie Fougere (Warner, N.H.) finished third in the 50-Breast (34.94) and sixth in the 200-Breast (2:48.54)
  • Junior Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) was fourth in the 100-IM (1:11.71)
  • Junior Brittany Dalphonse (Coventry, R.I.) was 16th in the 100-IM (1:25.76) and 27th in the 50-Breast (43.98)
  • Freshman Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine) placed sixth in the 100-Back (1:10.82), ninth in the 100-IM (1:14.68)
  • Senior Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) finished seventh in the 100-Free (1:01.48)
  • Senior Allie Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) placed 10th in the 50-Back (36.58) and 13th in the 100-IM (1:18.61)
  • Junior Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) was 13th in the 100-Free (1:06.48)
  • Sophomore Leia Berube (Brewer, Maine) finished 13th in the 50-Back (38.25) and 14th in the 100-IM (1:18.85)
 

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Senior Alexander Gilvey (Windham, Maine) was the top finisher in the 100-Back (59.88) and finished fourth in the 50-Back (28.30)
  • Junior Ben Johnson (Belmont, Mass.) placed second in the 200-Fly (2:13.20) and third in the 100-IM (59.68)
  • Senior Andrew Merlino (Natick, Mass.) was fourth in the 200-Fly (2:27.37) and fifth in the 100-Back (1:01.82)
