BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College swim teams competed at the University of New England on Friday evening. The men posted a 97-94 victory while the women suffered a 174-72 setback.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Freshman Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) won the 50-Breast (34.02) and 100-Breast (1:14.56) and was second in the 400-IM (5:36.52)
- Sophomore Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) won the 200-Free (2:09.43) and placed second in the 200-IM (2:32.72)
- Freshman Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) won the 50-Free (27.25) and 100-Free (59.06) and third in the 50-Fly (31.06)
- Sophomore Eliza Nadeau (Raymond, Maine) finished fourth in the 50-Back (38.25) and 500-Free (7:17.54) and fifth in the 100-Back (1:25.63)
- Sophomore Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.) was fourth in the 50-Breast (39.68) and 100-Breast (1:32.42) and sixth in the 50-Fly (37.19)
- Sophomore Rylie Perron (Wells, Maine) finished fourth in the 100-Back (1:20.05) and was fifth in the 50-Free (32.43) and 50-Fly (36.71)
- Senior Hannah Kibbin (Augusta, Maine) placed fifth in the 200-IM (3:12.28), sixth in the 50-Breast (41.23), and seventh in the 100-Breast (1:32.42)
- Podsiadlo, Thompson, Matthews, and Twombly placed third in the 200-Medley relay (2:05.33)
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Senior Ryan Watson (Glenburn, Maine) won the 200-Free (2:05.59), 500-Free (5:40.77), and 100-Fly (1:12.55)
- Sophomore Josh Erickson-Harris (Kennebunk, Maine) won the 50-Breast (31.51) and 100-Breast (1:11.06) and finished second in the 200-IM (2:32.87)
- Junior Camden Thaxter (Yarmouth, Maine) won the 50-Free (25.12) and placed second in the 100-Free (57.62)
- Senior Michael Hagerty (Yarmouth, Maine) placed second in the 200-Free (2:20.41) and 500-Free (6:48.31) and fourth in the 100-Free (1:02.78)
- Sophomore Shawn Perry (Plaistow, N.H.) finished second in the 400-IM (5:18.22), 100-Back (1:11.05) and 50-Fly (29.24)
- Senior Joseph Nichols (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was second in the 50-Back (33.61), third in the 100-Back (1:15.87), and fourth in the 50-Fly (34.21)
- Watson, Thaxter, Erickson-Harris, and Perry placed second in the 400-Free relay (3:51.57)
