Monks Cap 2022-23 Season with Home Tri-Meet

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College swim teams closed out the 2022-23 season with a home tri-meet with Regis College and Elms College at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday. The event was of the non-scoring variety.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Junior Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.)
  • Senior Anna Walker (Scarborough, Maine) won the 200-IM (2:48.53) and 100-Free (1:07.09)
  • Sophomore Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) won the 50-Fly (29.42) and placed second in the 50-Back (31.68)
  • Sophomore Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) was second in the 50-Fly (29.51)
  • Freshman Emma Westgate (Sanford, Maine) finished second in the 200-IM (3:09.16), fourth in the 50-Breast (45.57), and sixth in the 50-Fly (42.44)
  • Freshman Hannah Murphy (Quakertown, Pa.) was second in the 100-Free (1:07.68) and fourth in the 50-Free (30.76)
  • Freshman Elise Soucy (Saco, Maine) placed third in the 50-Free (29.74) and 50-Breast (40.12) events and fourth in the 50-Back (33.44)
  • Junior Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.) finished second in the 100-IM (1:27.49)
  • Twombly, Podsiadlo, Soucy, and Matthews won the 400-Medley relay with a 4:39.79 time
  • Walker, Podsiadlo, Matthews, and Murphy won the 200-Free relay (1:55.64)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Junior Shawn Perry (Plaistow, N.H.) won the 200-IM (2:21.48) and 100-Free (57.21) events and finished second in the 50-Breast (34.68)
  • Freshman Lucas Fendl (Ellsworth, Maine) won the 100-IM (1:00.79) and 50-Breast (31.31)
  • Sophomore Zachery Creekmore (New Fairfield, Conn.) placed third in the 50-Breast (38.22), fourth in the 50-Free (30.28), and fifth in the 100-IM (1:16.72)

MIXED RESULTS:

  • Matthews, Twombly, Fendl, and Perry notched a 1:45.81 effort in the 200-Free Relay exhibition
  • Podsiadlo, Walker, Creekmore, and Murphy posted a 2:02.77 time in the 200-Free Relay exhibition
