Monks Compete at Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College men's and women's indoor track & field had an action pack weekend with Senior Brooklyn Goff and Freshman Breya Whitman kicking off the weekend at the Bates Invitational and Multi meet. The rest of the squad traveled to Plymouth State for the Panther Invitational.

The Multi's-Duo, Brooklyn Goff and Breya Whitman, had a showing as they both tied for first in the high jump (1.53m) which is good enough to set a new program record. Goff also placed second overall in her 60-meter Hurdles leg (10.08) of her Pent efforts. To end the day Goff placed third overall with 2717 points which adds another program record to Goff's resume. Whitman finished seventh with 2195 points in her colligate pentathlon debut. Looking at the New England rankings, Goff now sits sixth in the region and 25th in the Nation.

At Plymouth, the meet was highlighted by 30 season-best performances and another three program records broken to end this weekend with a total of 5 new program marks. The stand-out event of the meet was undoubtedly brought to you by Senior Ryan Farr, Junior Tyler Ricker, Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar, and Freshman Jacob Schmader as they set a new program record in the 4x400-meter Relay. The relay squad clocked in at a smoking time of 3:26.52 which sets them second in the New England Region and 25th in the Nation.

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff in the Pentathlon with a total of 2717 points
  • Senior Brooklyn Goff and Freshman Breya Whitman in the High Jump (1.53m / 5'0.25")
  • Freshman Tudum Monday in the 60-meter Hurdles, clocking in at 8.79
  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar in the 200-meter Dash for a mark of 22.72
  • Abukar, Ricker, Farr, and Schmader in the men's 4x400-meter Relay (3:26.52)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff competed at Bates on Friday placing third in the Pentathlon (2717). Goff achieved the following marks in each leg of her Pent: 60-meter Hurdles (10.08; 2nd), High Jump (1.53m / 5'0.25"; 1st), Shot Put (7.46m / 24'5.75"; 6th), Long Jump (4.79m / 15'8.75"; 4th), 800-meter Run (2:46.86; 5th)
  • Freshman Breya Whitman placed seventh overall in the Bates Pentathlon with a 2195 point mark. Whitman achieved the following marks in each leg: 60-meter Hurdles (11.16; 7th), High Jump (1.53m / 5'0.25"; 1st), Shot Put (6.50m / 21'4"; 9th), Long Jump (3.98m / 13'0.75"; 8th), 800-meter Run (2:54.02; 8th)
  • Freshman Ava Smart ran another strong 400-meter run this week to gather a third-place finish (1:06.44)
  • Freshman Ava Moffett made her 5000-meter run debut with a solid mark of 23:46 to finish fifth
  • Junior Terry Cassetta finished sixth in her 25-lap effort to finish with a 25:21 5000-meter run time
  • Freshman Audrey Bilodeau placed sixth in the Long Jump (4.75m / 15'7") and seventh in the 60-meter Hurdles (10.87)
  • Senior Abby O'Brien finished fourth in the Weight Throw with a mark of 12.61m (41' 4.5"). O'Brien also competed in the Shot Put to place 16th (8.64m / 28' 4.25")
  • Freshman Alexis Cowan placed seventh in the Triple Jump with a mark of 9.44m (30' 11.75"). Cowan also competed in the Long Jump (4.40m / 14' 5.25") placing 12th
  • Junior Kate Luiz won her heat to place seventh overall in her standout 400-meter race (1:10.71)
  • Sophomore Alexia Young finished eighth in the Triple Jump with a best mark of 9.17m (30'1") and finished 11th in the Long Jump (4.47m / 14' 8")

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar placed first in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 22.72 and finished with a 7.29 final time in the 60-meter dash for fourth place
  • Senior Ryan Farr clocked in at 23.17 in the 200-meter relay for third place
  • Freshman Jacob Schmader took home the win in the 400-meter dash with a 51.90 mark
  • Freshman Tudum Monday placed first in the 60-meter hurdles clocking in at 8.79. Monday also placed third overall in the Triple Jump (12.65m / 41'6")
  • Freshman Matthew Corriveau jumped to a third place finish in the Long Jump (6.35m/20'10") and placed fifth in the High Jump with a mark of 1.75m. Corriveau also competed in the 200-meter dash clocking in at 23.74 finishing sixth overall
  • Senior Wesley Hundley threw for a fifth-place finish in the Weight Throw (11.42m / 37'5.75") and placed tenth overall in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.96m (35'11.5")
  • Sophomore Noah Batoosingh placed eighth in the 60-meter Dash (7.48)
  • Junior Tyler Ricker jumped for a mark of 5.88m (19'3.5") to place eighth. Ricker also placed eleventh in the 60-meter dash (7.55)
  • Freshman Gehrig Hatch leaped for an eighth place finish in the Triple Jump (11.12m / 36'5.75") and placed nineth in his 60-meter hurdles effort (9.98)
  • Freshman Jonah Naratil was tenth in the 60-meter Hurdles clocking in at 10.19. Nartil placed 18th in the 200-meter Dash (24.55)
  • Sophomore Jacob Pelletier cranked up the speed this weekend with his Mile debut to place seventh with a 4:45 mark
  • Junior Ryan Graham placed 9th in the 5000-meter run (16:58) and topped the day off with a 600-meter effort for tenth place (1:31.95)
  • Freshman Andrew James placed seventh in the Shot Put reaching 12.16m (39'10.75")
  • Abukar, Farr, Ricker, and Schmader placed first in the 4x400-meter Relay (3:26.52)
