Monks Compete in Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, MASS. – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's indoor track teams traveled to the famous 2024 Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic Meet this weekend to compete against some of the nation's most elite track and field competitors. The meet was highlighted with broken national records and individuals hitting Olympic qualifying marks.

Three program records fell for the Monks and senior Ryan Farr punched his ticket to the East Regional Championship in the 400-meter dash with his program record-setting time of 50.26.

 

FOR THE RECORD:

  • Senior Ryan Farr ran 50.26 to set a new program record in the 400-meter dash

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff placed 24th in the 60-meter Hurdles Invite Section with a time of 9.91. Goff was one of three DIII athletes invited into this section, the other 24 athletes reined from Division I and II programs
  • Freshman Audrey Bilodeau placed 19th in the open 60-meter hurdles with a season-best of 10.54
  • Senior Abby O'Brien placed twentieth in the Weight Throw with her 12.52m (41'1") effort
  • Freshman Breya Whitman finished 20th overall in the High Jump with a mark of 1.45m (4'9")
  • Sophomore Alexia Young clocked a 1:04.76 400-meter dash (99th)
  • Freshman Ava Smart had a personal best in her 400-meter dash effort with a time of 1:04.82 (101st)
  • Goff, Young, Bilodeau, and Smart placed thirtieth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:23.52)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Freshman Tudum Monday won the open 60-meter hurdles with his 9.06 effort. Monday also placed thirteenth in his Triple Jump effort (12.47m / 21'3.25")
  • Freshman Andrew James placed nineteenth overall in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.83m (38' 9.75")
  • Freshman Rookie Haytham Ramadan placed 31st overall in his 1000-meter run effort to clock in at 2:38.86. Ramadan almost cracked the 2 minute barrier in his 800-meter run effort (2:00.80) to place 130th
  • Senior Ryan Farr clocked in a new school record time of 50.26 in the 400-meter run placing 47th in a field of 128 athletes from Division I to Division III. Far now ranks eleventh in the East Region with this stand-out effort
  • Senior Nick Carmosino placed 46th in the 1000-meter run clocking in at 2:47.66. Carmosino sets a new personal record with this effort
  • Sophomore Alexey Seredin placed 49th in the 1000-meter run with his 2:51.59 effort
  • Freshman Carl Peters competed in the 60-meter dash to clock a 7.64 (56th) and set a new personal best in the 200-meter dash (23.87, 153rd)
  • Freshman Jacob Schmader ran 22.70 for a personal best in the 200-meter run to place 66th in the field of 191 runners. Schmader now moves to 25th in the East Region with his new mark
  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar placed 65th in the 400-meter dash clocking in at 51.36
  • Freshman Matthew Corriveau ran a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.99 to place 100th out of the 191-competitor field
  • Sophomore Noah Batoosingh ran the 200-meter dash in 23.74 to place 145th
  • Sophomore John McManus placed 100th in his personal best effort of 53.24 in the 400-meter dash
  • Freshman Diamond Doe ran the 800-meter run in 2:01.91 to finish 139th overall
  • Junior Ryan Graham had two personal bests in the 800-meter run (2:03.63, 154th) and Mile (4:38.61, 269th)
  • Junior Griffin Cooney set his new best in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06.10 (165th)
  • Abukar, Ricker, Farr, and Schmader placed 15th in their 4x400-meter relay effort (3:26.13)
  • Graham, Farr, Schmader, and Ramadan placed 25th in their Distance Medley Relay debut (10:56.87)
