Monks Compete in New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the 2024 New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at The TRACK at New Balance.

The women's meet ended with MIT taking the crown for first (130.33 points) ahead of Williams with 96 points and Amherst rounding out for third with 95 pts. For the men, MIT ran away with it finishing with 154 points in front of Tufts 106.5 points. Amherst followed in with 83 points placing third.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff competed in the Long Jump with a 5.16m effort to place tenth overall. Goff also had an 11.02 effort in the 60 Meter Hurdles for 26th
  • Senior Abby O'Brien finished the day with a 12.36m throw in the Weight Throw to place 27th overall
  • Goff, Bilodeau, Young, and Smart placed 19th in the 4 x 400 meter relay finishing in 4:22.76
  • Smart, Bilodeau, Whitman, and Young cruised in for a 1:55.08 in the 4 x 200 meter relay

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar placed seventh overall in the 200 Meters with a time of 22.02. Abukar also competed in the 60 Meter Dash clocking in at 7.17 (27th).
  • Freshman Haytham Ramadan broke the school record in the 800 Meter with his 1:56.42 effort (17th)
  • Freshman Jacob Schmader ran for a time of 50.65 in the 400 Meters for a new season-best placing 15th
  • Senior Ryan Farr clocked in just behind his fellow teammate for a time of 50.68 in the 400 Meter run (16th)
  • Freshman Diamond Doe ran a season-best in the 200 Meters (22.45) placing 16th overall
  • Junior Tyler Ricker crossed the finish line in 51.37 with his 400 Meter effort
  • Freshman Matthew Corriveau clocked in at 51.94 for his second-best time of the year in the 400 Meter run
  • McManus, Corriveau, Doe, and Graham clocked a new DMR record with a time of 10:54.36 to place 17th overall
  • Doe, Graham, McManus, and Ramadan clocked in a new program record in the 4 x 800 Meter Relay with a time of 8:08.21
  • Abukar, Farr, Ricker, and Schmader came together to place fourth overall in the 4 x 400 Meter Relay which marks the highest-scoring effort in the New England Championships in SJC Program History. The men also set a new school record in their efforts clocking in at 3:20.24
