VanDeMoere & Farr Claim GNAC Weekly Accolades

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field athletes have earned accolades.

Senior Samantha VanDeMoere (Thornton, N.H.) has been named as the GNAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week and sophomore Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) has claimed GNAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.

VanDeMoere broke the Monks' 800-meter record with a second-place time of 2:25.58 and kicked off the team's winning 4x400-meter relay (4:51.43) while placing sixth in the long jump (3.93m) and 12th in the javelin throw (19.69m) at Regis College on Saturday.

Farr won the 400-meter dash (51.61) and 200-meter dash (23.31) and kicked off the Monks' winning 4x400-meter relay (3:37.87) at Regis on Saturday.

For VanDeMoere, the GNAC weekly honor is the second of her career while Farr has now earned three conference weekly awards.

Saint Joseph's will participated in the 2022 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Regis College this Saturday.
