SJC Track Teams Garner USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades

NEW ORLEANS – The All-Academic Teams for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track & Field seasons were announced last week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and both Saint Joseph's College teams have been honored.

To receive the distinguished academic award, teams need to carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or better. The SJC women registered a 3.51 GPA while the Monks' men posted a 3.28 cumulative GPA through the 2022 spring semester.

Overall, 214 NCAA DIII women's teams and 155 men's programs earned 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Saint Joseph's is the only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) institution to have both teams claim USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades.

The Saint Joseph's women's team GPA is bolstered by the academic acumen of 12 2022 GNAC All-Academic honorees, as seniors Emma Allen, Julia Heroux, Carly Jordan, Kaylee Todisco, Julie Unczur, and Samantha VanDeMoere, juniors Caitlin Kendrick, Kelsey Kennedy, Kimberly Moulton, and Piper Wetherby, and sophomores Abby O'Brien and Hanna Roy were honored for their work in the classroom earlier this summer.

The SJC men featured seven individuals on the GNAC All-Academic list, as seniors James Benson, Shawn Breen, Troy Hendricks, Jacob Huberdeau, Tyler Nadeau, and Cameron Rice and juniors Ashtyn Abbott and Devin Abbott helped the Monks claim the national honor with their academic prowess last year.
