Bengals Rally Past Monks, 3-1

STANDISH, Maine – UMaine-Fort Kent (5-1) rallied from a 1-0 set deficit to defeat Saint Joseph's College (5-10), 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-16), in non-conference women's volleyball action at Mike McDevitt Court on Wednesday evening.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Sophomore Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) posted a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs
  • Freshman Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) notched seven kills and 18 digs
  • Senior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) added 12 assists, two kills, a pair of aces, and nine digs
  • First-year Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) registered six kills and five digs with a pair of total blocks

LEADERS – UMFK:

  • Jamie Nena belted 12 kills
  • Kayla Iwata tallied four kills, 15 assists, five service aces, and nine digs
  • Halle Ham picked up 22 digs
  • Mylei Moli contributed five kills, three aces, and seven digs

NEXT!

Saint Joseph's will host Simmons University (11:00 AM) and Salem State University (3:00 PM) on Saturday. Simmons and Salem State will face off in the middle match at 1:00 PM.
