STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College junior cross country runner Katie Murphy (Baileyville, ME) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for her performance during the October 5-11 reporting period.
Murphy paced the Monks and placed 7th overall with a 22:05 effort in the 5K Runnin' Monks Invitational at Saint Joseph's College on October 10th. The top weekly honor is Murphy's first of the season. She has also garnered three GNAC Honor Roll listings this season.
Saint Joseph's will participate in the State of Maine Championships, hosted by Colby College, on Saturday. The women's race is slated to begin at 11:00 AM with the men to follow at 12:00 PM.
