STANDISH, ME – Freshman cross country runner Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive reporting period.
Dostie followed up a runner-up finish in her first NCAA meet – the Rivier College Invitational on September 23rd – with a first-place finish in the Colby College Invitational on Saturday. The first-year runner toured the 5K course in 20:25, 25 seconds ahead of the next finisher.
Dostie's 19:32 effort in the Rivier meet ranks as the second-fasted posted by a Monks female runner over the last 12 seasons. Kristin Lindholm set the program record with a 19:05 performance at Gordon College in 1992.
Saint Joseph's will host the Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
