Horgan Selected as GNAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME ? Saint Joseph?s senior attack Jonathan Horgan (Hingham, Mass.) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men?s Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Horgan paced the Monks with nine goals and 15 total points and added 15 ground balls in a 2-1 week for the Monks. He produced three goals, three assists and eight ground balls in a 12-5 victory over Maine-Farmington on March 22nd and tallied five goals and two helpers in a 13-11 win over GNAC-rival Anna Maria College on March 24th.

A 2011 First Team All-GNAC selection, Horgan currently leads the Royal Blue in goals (20), points (27), shots (60), shots on goal (33), man-up goals (5) and ground balls (30). He is the Monks? all-time leader in points (144) despite missing all but one game as a sophomore due to injury.

For Horgan, the conference weekly honor is the fifth of his career. As a freshman he garnered NAC Rookie of the Week mention three times and collected GNAC Player of the Week accolades on March 28th, 2011.

Saint Joseph?s (3-5, 1-0 GNAC) will host Plymouth State University in a non-conference contest tonight (Tuesday) at Deering Memorial Stadium beginning at 7:30 PM.
