STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s College has announced the hiring of Ray Putnam as the men’s and women’s cross country coach. Putnam fills the position vacated by Bruce Bickford, who resigned last month.

BRUNSWICK, ME – The SJC Men’s Cross Country squad finished seventh with 233 points in the 43rd Annual State of Maine Championship 8K at Mount Ararat High School on Saturday afternoon. Eric Friend ’11 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) finished 69th out of 140 runners and led all Monk runners with a 29:05 effort.
STANDISH, ME – Johnson & Wales University cruised to a men’s team title with 15 points in the 8th Annual Runnin’ Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph’s College on Saturday. The Wildcats left no doubt as to which team would take the crown as the first five finishers wore the JWU acronym on their chest.
KEENE, NH – The SJC Men’s Cross Country team finished ninth with 235 points in the Keene State College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Eric Friend ’11 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) paced the Royal Blue runners with a 29:36 effort and placed 47th in the five mile race.
STANDISH, ME Ryan Prescott '09 returned to Saint Joseph's College for the annual Alumni Cross Country race and came away as the individual champion for the second consecutive year with a 17:33 effort in the 5K event.
BIDDEFORD, ME The SJC Mens Cross Country team earned a sixth-place finish with 177 points in the UNE Invitational Meet on Saturday. Eric Friend 11 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) paced the Royal Blue with a 31:29 performance and placed 35th overall in the 8K race.
FARMINGTON, ME The SJC Mens Cross Country team opened the 2010 campaign with a fourth-place finish, and 98 points, in the UMF Invitational at Mt. Blue High School on Saturday.
STANDISH, ME Saint Josephs College Athletic Director Brian Curtin has named Bruce Bickford as the Monks Mens and Womens Cross Country Head Coach. Bickford fills the spot vacated by Tom Dann, who stepped down earlier this summer after 14 years as the program leader, and will be the sixth coach in team history.
