Prescott Paces Field at 2010 Alumni Meet

STANDISH, ME – Ryan Prescott '09 returned to Saint Joseph's College for the annual Alumni Cross Country race and came away as the individual champion for the second consecutive year with a 17:33 effort in the 5K event.

The two-time GNAC Runner of the Year and SJC course record-holder bested a field of 29 men and women who participated in the race, including 12 alumni runners. Eric Friend '11 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) toured the course in 18:55 and placed second while teammate Jacob Kostik '14 (Durham, ME) placed third with a 19:03 effort.

Three alums followed in quick succession, as Vinny Micucci '09 (19:18), Jeremy Allen '10 (19:24) and Matt Ferguson '07 (20:14) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Danielle Cusack '13 (Portland, ME/Deering) led all female runners with a 22:55 performance and placed 13th overall. Alumna Sarah Willis '08 was close behind with a 23:16 time while Christina Meehan '11 (Nashua, NH) (23:19) and Katie Murphy '11 (Baileyville, ME) (23:52) both turned in respectable times.

Matt Vasil '05 (20:54), 14-year Head Coach Tom Dann (21:22), Scot Vachon '09 (25:25), Joe Crocker '10 (25:47), Katie Jordan '09 (28:45), Aaron Broadus (28:45) and Matthew LeBlanc (29:59) rounded out the alumni participants in this year's event.

Saint Joseph's will participate in the Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park in Boston Saturday, September 25th. The women's meet begins at 11:00 AM with the men to follow at 11:30 AM.
