Men's Cross Country wins Runnin' Monks Team Title

STANDISH, MAINE. – The Saint Joseph's College Men's Cross Country team competed at home today in the annual Runnin' Monks Invitational. The Monks posted 39 points finishing first overall out of 5 scoring teams with an average time of 30:57. This marks the Monks' second team win of the season after winning their season opener at the Charger Invitational.

Emmerson College finished second after tallying 46 points and a 31:40 average time. Maine-Presque Isle (81 points), Central Maine Community College (91 points), and Lasell (94 points) respectively filled out the rest of the team standings in today's 8k contest. 

Sophomore Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) snagged his third individual win for the season with a 28:29 effort. Pelletier was followed in by Maine-Presque Isle's Stephen Grierson with a 29:10 effort. Oliver Glass of Emerson filled out the podium with his 29:17 effort.

  • Sophomore Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) finished first (28:29)
  • Junior Ryan Graham (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed fourth (29:41)
  • Freshman Tyler Wright (Chatham, Mass.) was ninth with his 31:05 effort
  • Senior Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass.) finished 14th (32:11)
  • Freshman Emislon Zocolo (Lewiston, Maine) finished 18th (33:21)
  • Junior Ethan Shaw (Scarborough, Maine) was 20th (33:23)
  • Junior Jobet Tardiff (Windham, Maine) placed 26th (37:10)
  • Freshman Michael Morin (Merrimack, N.H.) finished 28th (37:14)
  • Freshman Colin Brown (Hardwick, Mass.) was 36th (40:55)
  • Alumni Alex Fitzgerald '20 (Lebanon, Maine) also attended the event running 37:10
