Saint Joseph's Cross Country Competes at Ron Ouellette Invitational

BIDDEFORD, Maine. – The Saint Joseph's College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Rotary Park for the Ron Ouellette Invitational hosted by the University of New England.

The men posted 42 points finishing runner-up to Maine-Farmington who topped the field with 32 points. Sophomore Jacob Pelletier for the Monks earned his second straight individual win finishing first (27:57) in his 8k effort, just ten seconds ahead of Ponce Saltysiak of Maine Maritime (28:07).

The women posted 73 points to finish third overall led by sophomore Alexia Young and freshman Ava Moffett finishing just two seconds apart from each other.

 

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

The Monks placed three runners in the top seven as Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) finished first (27:57),  Ryan Graham (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed fourth (29:16), and Alexey Seredin (Peaks Island, Maine) was sixth with his 29:18 effort.

Maine Maritime finished third with 58 points and UNE, York County Community College, Curry College, and North Essex also competed in today's event but did not score.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Senior Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass.) finished 15th (34:05)
  • Junior Ethan Shaw (Scarborough, Maine) was 24th (35:34)
  • Freshman Michael Morin (Merrimack, N.H.) placed 30th (38:22)
  • Freshman Emislon Zocolo (Lewiston, Maine) finished 31st (38:32)
  • Junior Jobet Tardiff (Windham, Maine) placed 32nd (39:37)
  • Freshman Colin Brown (Hardwick, Mass.) was 36th (44:22)

 

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

Maine-Farmington placed three runners in the top seven to win the meet with a total of 31 points with host University of New England finishing behind with 33 points.

The Monks placed third with 73 points followed by Maine Maritime for fourth with 79 points. York County Community College also participated in today's event but did not post a team score.

Junior Joy Evans of Maine-Farmington won the event individually with a time of 21:46 with a twenty-two-second lead from the rest of the pack.

 FOR THE MONKS:

  • Sophomore Alexia Young (Rochester, N.H.) placed 12th (26:41)
  • Freshman Ava Moffett (Livermore Falls, Maine) was 13th (26:43)
  • Junior Terry Cassetta (Sandy Hook, Conn.) finished 15th (27:21)
  • Freshman Breya Whitman (Auburn, Maine) was 18th (31:12)
  • Junior Lindy Hyndman (Auburn, Maine) placed 20th (32:22)
