Saint Joseph's Set to Host MPA Baseball & Softball Tournaments

STANDISH, Maine - Saint Joseph’s College will serve as a host site for the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) baseball and softball regional and state championship games next week.

The MPA Western Maine Baseball Championships will be played at Larry Mahaney Diamond, starting with a pair of contests on Tuesday, the Class “B” Championship at 3:00 PM and the Class “D” Championship at 6:30 PM. The Class “A” title will be decided on Wednesday at 3:00 PM, followed by the Class “C” Championship at 6:30 PM.

The MPA Western Maine Softball Championships follow a similar format, as play begins with the Class “D” Championship at 3:30 PM on Tuesday and continues with the Class “B” title game, which begins at 7:00 PM that day. The Class “C” champion will be crowned in a 3:30 PM contest on Wednesday and the Class “A” Championship game is slated to start at 7:00 PM that evening. All Western Maine Tournament softball games will be played at Richard W. Bailey Field on the campus of Saint Joseph’s College.

The State Championship baseball and softball games for Class “B” and Class “D” will be played on Saturday, June 20th. Mahaney Diamond will house the Class “D” Championship at 1:00 PM and the Class “B” title contest at 4:30 PM that day. Bailey Field will serve as the host site for the Class “B” Championship, which begins at 12:30 PM, and the Class “D” Championship, slated to start at 4:00 PM, on Saturday.
