Keneborus Named First Team ECAC All-New England

STANDISH, ME – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has released the 2011 NCAA DIII New England All-Star Team and Saint Joseph's College outfielder Todd Keneborus '11 (Hollis, Maine/Cheverus) has garnered First Team honors.

Keneborus, listed on the ECAC All-Star team for the first time in his career, collected GNAC Player of the Year, First Team All-GNAC and First Team All-NEIBA accolades for the second consecutive season after hitting .414 (65-157) with 38 runs, 11 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 40 RBI and four steals in 47 games this spring. He led the Monks in at bats, hits, homers, RBI, slugging (.618) and OBP (.497) in 2011 and also ranked second in the conference in hits, slugging and OBP.

The four-year standout closed out his career with a .399 (213-534) batting average and posted 141 runs, 40 doubles, a program-record 22 triples, 14 home runs and 150 RBI in 162 games at Saint Joseph's. His play helped the Monks collect three GNAC Championships and a trio of NCAA DIII Tournament appearances – including five victories at the New England Regional Tournament over the past two seasons.

He and his five classmates helped Saint Joseph's post a staggering 126-59 (.681) record over the last four campaigns.

For Keneborus, the regional honor is the 19th award of his prestigious career. He is the only GNAC player to be selected and joins Southern Maine first baseman Mike Eaton and Bowdoin College utility man John Lefeber as one of three hailing from a Maine institution to receive the honor.

He joins Luke Enman '08, Pat Moran '10 and Sam Murray '12 as St. Joe's players who have received ECAC New England All-Star mention over the past five years.

Last season, Saint Joseph's went 32-15 overall and 12-2 in GNAC play en route to claiming the conference championship for the third time in four years as a league member. The Monks proceeded to defeat #3 Wheaton College and top-seeded Tufts University in the 2011 New England Regional Tournament, which was held at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Mass., before bowing out of the tourney with a loss to Wheaton in the elimination round.

For St. Joe's, the trip to the NCAA's was the team's fifth in the last six seasons.
