Rafferty & Pratt Claim GNAC Accolades

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and two Saint Joseph's College baseball players have been honored.

Senior pitcher Chad Rafferty (Keene, N.H.) has earned Pitcher of the Week accolades for the second-consecutive reporting period while senior first baseman Mike Pratt (Dartmouth, Mass.) has been listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Rafferty posted his second shutout in as many starts on the season with seven brilliant innings in a 5-0 victory over UMass.-Boston on Friday. The senior right-hander allowed just four hits and no walks while fanning six to tie the Monks' all-time wins record (23), a mark that has stood for 27 years.

The reigning D3baseball.com and NCBWA New England Region Pitcher of the year has tossed 14 innings with nine hits and no walks allowed while fanning 14 in a pair of complete-game victories so far this spring.

Pratt hit .467 (7-15) with three runs, a double, two home runs and six RBI in a 3-2 week for the Monks. The four-year starter went 4-6 with two runs, a two-bagger, a pair of jacks and four RBI in a split with UMass.-Boston on Friday.

Through nine games, Pratt is hitting .464 (13-28) with eight runs, four doubles, two homers and 13 RBI. He currently leads the Monks in runs, doubles, home runs, RBI and slugging percentage (.821) and has not committed an error in 85 chances through nine contests.

The trip continues with a contest versus Castleton State College on Saturday (1:00 PM, at Sidell Stadium in Norton, Mass.) and a doubleheader against UMass.-Boston on Sunday (12:00 PM, at Campanelli Stadium, Brockton, Mass.).
