STANDISH, Maine – The 12th Annual Saint Joseph's College Baseball Hot Stove Auction, held at Pearson's Café on Sunday, January 17th, was a rousing success.

The 2016 auction was the largest ever hosted by the baseball program, with more than 220 items and 325 supporters in attendance. Featuring sports memorabilia, vacation packages, tickets to sporting events and concerts, home goods, and much more, this year's Hot Stove Auction raised a record amount for the Monks baseball program.

The event, organized annually by Head Baseball Coach Will Sanborn '86 and his wife, Lynn Brown, Senior Director for Student Success Initiatives at the College, is strongly supported by Saint Joseph's Baseball alumni, parents, family and friends of the program.

"Our Hot Stove Auction has become a real tradition at the college and in the surrounding community," adds Coach Sanborn. "Our parent group and alumni are amazing with their donations, attendance at the event, and bidding for items. Our team is truly blessed to have such great support."

Many members of the SJC campus community were in attendance, including President Dr. Jim Dlugos, who spoke of the importance of the SJC Baseball Family to the college. Former Saint Joseph's outfielder and assistant coach Nick Mirabello '03 served as the auctioneer and provided plenty of entertainment and energy during the event.

Saint Joseph's kicks off the 2016 season with a nine-game slate in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, starting with a doubleheader against WPI on Sunday, March 6th at 9:30 AM.
