Black & Partridge Earn GNAC, D3Baseball.com Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – Weekly accolades have been released for the reporting period ending March 12th and a pair of Saint Joseph's College baseball players have earned honors from both D3Baseball.com and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Senior third baseman Taylor Black (Cardiff by the Sea, Calif.) and junior reliever Josh Partridge (Deerfield, N.H.) have both been listed on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week while earning GNAC Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, respectively.

Black hit .625 (15-24) with a .630 OBP and a 1.000 slugging percentage with eight runs, five doubles, two triples, and 11 RBI in six games for the Monks last week. The senior captain had at least two hits in every game, including three-hit efforts in three different contests, and played flawless defense with no errors in 18 chances at the hot corner.

Partridge made three appearances out of the bullpen last week and posted a 0.00 ERA with nine strikeouts while allowing three hits and no walks in 8.2 innings of work. The junior lefthander picked up the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief versus Rhode Island College on Thursday and earned a save with three scoreless frames in a 5-4 triumph over Salve Regina on Friday.

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, honoring performers at each position – from institutions around the country – for their efforts from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.

For Black, the GNAC weekly accolade is the second of his career as the senior captain earned the same honor on April 25th, 2016. Partridge also claimed GNAC Pitcher of the Week acclaim on March 8th, 2016. The D3Baseball.com Team of the Week honor is a career-first for both players.

The last Saint Joseph's player to be listed on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week was catcher Joe Coyne '15, who earned the honor on May 1st, 2015.

Saint Joseph's (6-2) returns to action on Friday, March 24th when the team returns to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational for three nine-inning games versus Thomas College (3/24, 2:00 PM), Worcester State University (3/25, 2:00 PM), and Benedictine University (IL) (3/26, 10:00 AM).
