Lops was named as an assistant prior to the start of the 2018-19 academic year and serves as the Monks' hitting coach.

A four-year starter as a catcher and infielder for the Monks, Lops posted lofty numbers with a .357 (193-541) average, 82 runs, 38 doubles, three triples, three home runs, and 130 RBI over 154 contests. Upon graduation, he ranked seventh in SJC Baseball history in at-bats, eighth in RBI and hits, 11th in doubles, and 13th in batting average.

As a freshman, Lops garnered GNAC Rookie of the Year, GNAC Tournament MVP, Second Team All-Conference, and a pair of Third Team All-New England accolades after leading the team with a .389 (51-131) batting average and a .437 on base percentage with 22 runs, five doubles, and 28 RBI. 

Lops helped lead the Monks to three GNAC Championships and subsequent NCAA Tournament appearances during his career. Also an outstanding student, the English/Secondary Education major earned Capital One Academic All-District honors in 2016 and garnered GNAC All-Academic honors on four occasions.
