Pat Moran, Senior, Baseball

Pat Moran '10 is a right-handed pitcher and slugger, and 2010 tri-captain, for the Saint Joseph's College Baseball team who notched one of the best seasons for a two-way player in program history as a junior. The University of Maine transfer led the Monks in wins (8), ERA (3.88), innings pitched (62 2/3), strikeouts (75) and fewest walks allowed (6) and ranked fourth in all of NCAA DIII Baseball with 0.86 walks per nine innings. With the bat, Moran belted 11 home runs and posted an .813 slugging percentage to lead the GNAC in both categories. Following his tremendous season, Moran collected GNAC First Team All-Conference honors as a pitcher and designated hitter, All-NEIBA First Team, D3Baseball.com All-America Honorable Mention and ECAC DIII Baseball Third Team honors, as well as team Most Valuable Player and Saint Joseph's Athletics Male Athlete of the Year accolades.

Baseball Head Coach Will Sanborn '86:

"We are fortunate to have a player the caliber of Pat Moran returning for his senior season. Pat does a great deal to help our ball club. He is a real leader with his work ethic and focus. Pat is one of the top two-way players in NCAA Division III baseball. As a dominant pitcher he gives us that #1 starter that every team needs. As a hitter he is very intelligent - always has a good plan at the plate - and provides a great deal
of power and drives in runs in key situations. Defensively we can use him both in the
outfield and at first base. We look for big things from our ball club this year - and Pat
will be one of the key catalysts."
