STANDISH, ME - Four athletes with ties to Saint Joseph's College
ran in the Peak Performance Half Marathon, held on Sunday, October
4th in Portland, Maine, and all four performed exceptionally
well.
Cross Country Head Coach Tom Dann
posted a 1:23.42 effort in the half marathon to capture the top
time in the 50-54 age group. His performance placed him 25th
overall out of 1869 runners in the event.
Ryan Prescott '09 and
Jillian Leger '08 both qualified
for the Boston Marathon with 3:10.16 and 3:38.57 performances,
respectively. Prescott, one of the top men's cross
country runners over the past 15 years at Saint Joseph's, placed
36th overall while Leger, a former SJC women's
soccer standout, finished 117th. The qualifying time for male
runners is 3:10 while the female time is 3:40.
Also, former SJC runner Vincent
Micucci '09 posted a 3:18.10 effort and placed
71st overall in the event.
Megan Cutter '12 (Westbrook, ME)
was tops in the 19 and under female class with a 1:46.33 time, good
for 380th in the half-marathon. Cutter is currently a member of the
women's lacrosse team at Saint Joseph's.
