Corey McCarthy has served as the Sports Information Director at Saint Joseph’s College since the fall of 2007. In 2015 he was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Athletics and in 2020 was elevated to his current role as Associate Director of Athletics for Communications.

Since his arrival McCarthy, the 2009, 2014 and 2019 GNAC Sports Information Director of the Year honoree, has spearheaded numerous positive changes within the department. In 2009 he worked with Presto Sports to develop www.gomonks.com and, in the fall of 2011 and again in 2013, made significant improvements to the website and helped transform it into what folks see today.

Always looking to enhance the offerings of the SJC Sports Information Department, McCarthy has implemented the use of live stats and webstreaming and helped the department develop a strong social media presence with updated Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube sites. Under McCarthy's watch, all contests played on the SJC campus are streamed live for online viewing, a feature that began during the 2010-11 academic year.

McCarthy also introduced the “Monk Confessions” and “Where are they now?” features to the athletics website and, with the help of the SJC Copy Center, publishes an exhaustive record book, featuring records, accolades and statistics for all programs, every summer. Most recently he began an SJC athletics podcast called "Monks Take".

He also oversees a handful of interns - from a variety of academic fields - each year.

McCarthy, who came to Saint Joseph’s as an assistant baseball coach and worked in that capacity for eight years (2005-12), studied Recreation Management at University of North Dakota and SUNY-Cortland and earned a B.S. in Sports Management with a minor in Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.

He currently resides in Steep Falls, Maine with his wife Katie and his children, Cameron and Avery.
