St. Joe’s Pulls Away from UNE

STANDISH, MAINE - Senior Noah LaRoche (Exeter, NH) scored a game-high 19 points to lead Saint Joseph's College to a 57-46 victory over University of New England before a packed Alfond Center crowd. The Monks improve to 14-6 while the Nor'easters drop to 7-14 on the season.

St. Joe's went into the break up 22-18 after a low scoring first half which saw only 7 field goals from each team. The Monks went on to outscore UNE 35-28 in the second half, making 12 of 14 from the foul line.

Marcus Alexander (Niceville, FL) had 10 points and 8 boards and freshman Elbie Murphy (Loudonville, NY) had 8 points, 6 boards and 4 steals for St. Joe's.

Junior Mark Regis (Monroe, NH) had 12 points and senior Matt McManus (Cumberland, RI) had 11 points for the Nor'easters.

Both teams are back in action on 2/12 as St. Joe's hosts Husson College at 3:00 p.m. and UNE takes on Salve Regina in Newport, RI at 3:00 p.m.
