This second year-player showed signs of being a quality player in the Monks system ... unfortunately, T.J. will be slowed down during the first semester because of an operation on his knee after last season. He has spent the entire summer and the pre-season trying to get stronger in order to be effective during his sophomore campaign ... just another testament to his toughness and drive to become a complete player ... T.J.'s work ethic is at the top of the charts and the coaching staff is hoping that his enthusiasm for working will be contagious ... if not in class during the day, playing in the winter, or working with heavy equipment in the summer, T.J. is in the gym getting stronger and working on his basketball skills ... he will be looked upon to stretch the defense with his outstanding three-point shot ... he has the ability to put up points in bunches ... must continue to clean up his handle and stay with his strength training to make an impact on all aspects of the game ... the coaching staff is rooting for this young man to get healthy because they know he can be a piece to the Monks puzzle.
2007-08: Playing behind six juniors and returning starter/Second Team All-conference player Elbie Murphy, he knew his time would be limited ... his efforts and importance to his team do not lie in his season statistical line ... his dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and he appeared in 11 of the 27 games the Monks played ... averaged 6.3 minutes per game in those contests ... registered a career-high 14 minutes versus the Mustangs from Mount Ida ... registered a career-high 2 points and grabbed 2 rebounds versus Emmanuel College ... grabbed a career-high 3 rebounds in a victory versus Albertus Magnus. As soon as T.J. starts to mature physically, you will see his minutes and numbers increase.
High School: Graduated from nearby Windham High School ... totaled 710 career points over three seasons ... averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.4 steals his senior year ... recorded a career highs of 32 points versus Marshwood High School, dished out 8 assists against Biddeford ... earned SMAA All-Conference honors in '06 and ‘07 ... was voted by the coaches to the SMAA Senior All-Star game. During his senior season, Tandberg's teammates voted him Captain and Windham High School Team MVP.
