STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's senior guard
Elbie Murphy (Loudonville, ME)
has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly
Honor Roll for the second consecutive week.
In wins over Emmanuel and Lasell, Murphy averaged 15.0 points, 7.5
assists, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 blocks. The senior guard
notched a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists in a win over
Emmanuel on February 17th and grabbed his 500th career rebound
against Lasell on February 21st to become just the third player in
team history to compile 1400 points, 500 boards and 300 assists. he
also knocked down his 100th career three-pointer in the win over
the Lasers.
The third-seeded Monks (19-7, 12-6 GNAC) defeated Rivier College
(#6), 85-67, on Tuesday night in a GNAC quarterfinal contest and
will host #7 Albertus Magnus College (14-12, 9-9) on Thursday in
the semifinal round. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
