STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College sophomore guard Tyler Kelley (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) has broken the single-season record for shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Kelley shot 49.1% (54-110) from three-point distance during the 2008-09 campaign to break the 47.4% mark set by teammate Alberto Rue '10 (Jamaica Plain, MA) in 2007-08.

The sophomore also led the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in long ball accuracy and his 54 three-pointers made ranks as the ninth-highest total in the Monks basketball single-season annals. He currently ranks as the program's career leader with a 45.4% (64-141) three-point success rate, as the sophomore meets the requirements of 50 games played with at least one three-point field goal made per game.

Kelley burst onto the scene as a second-year player after averaging 9.3 minutes and 2.3 points as a freshman. He started 26 games for the 21-8 Monks and averaged 24.5 minutes and 12.1 PPG, the second-best average on the squad. He was the team's leading scorer in nine games and dropped more than 20 points four times during the season.

Kelley was an integral member of the 2009 Monks team that captured the program's first GNAC Championship. St. Joe's entered the conference tournament as the #3 seed and defeated Rivier and Albertus Magnus to advance to the title match. The Monks hosted #4 seed Emmanuel College and triumphed over the Saints, 74-72, in an overtime thriller to capture the conference crown and secure the team's second NCAA DIII Tournament berth.
