Abbott Earns USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades

NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honorees for the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and Saint Joseph's College senior Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) has been recognized.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Abbott, who claimed the same honor following the 2022 outdoor season, posted the fourth-highest High Jump performance – a 1.96m effort – in the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship on February 12th. The senior standout, who also starts for the Monks' men's basketball team, won the High Jump and helped Saint Joseph's claim the program's first GNAC Track & Field Championship.

Abbott is one of just two GNAC athletes to garner the regional award. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for honors.
