Standish, ME - Thomas College jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the
second inning and held on to a 14-13 win over Saint Josephs College
(9-6) in the first game of today's doubleheader.
Offensive leaders for the Terriers were Scott Brawn (2-3, 1HR, 2
RBI), Ryan O'Connor (2-4, 1 Grand slam, 4 RBI) and Jordan McDonald
(2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI). Brian Rulman pitched 2 and 2/3 innings in
relief for the win. Rulman gave up 1 run and 4 hits.
Senior Derek McIntosh (4-5, 2 HR,
3 RBI), freshman Andrew Dvilinsky
(2-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI) and junior Nick
Arno (3-3, 1 RBI) kept St. Joes in the game.
With 4 runs in the third inning in game 2, Saint Joseph's fought
off the Terrier attack and held on for a 6-5 win. Once again, it
was Derek McIntosh (2-3, 1 HR, 5
RBI) and Andrew Divilinsky (1-3,
1RBI) who helped St. Joe's to the win. Freshman pitcher
Steve Stout threw for 6 and 2/3
innings and senior Jack Hughes
struck out the last batter for the save.
For the Terriers, Scott Brawn (1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI), Lance Haynes
(1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI) and Tim Mercier (1-1, 1 HR) led the offense.
