STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's pitcher Pat
Moran '10 (Winterport, ME/Hampden Academy) has
received Great Northeast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week
honors for the second time this season.
Moran tossed 8 1/3 innings for the week, allowing two runs and five
hits with 14 strikeouts and no walks. The right-hander improved to
5-0 with a victory over Norwich on April 11th and collected his
first save of the season in a win over Daniel Webster on April 9th.
The junior, also one of the Monks' top hitters, belted a pair of
home runs and registered eight RBI's during the week.
He leads the conference with 53 strikeouts and ranks third with a
2.40 earned run average. The Monks' ace has walked just three
batters in 45 innings and had the seventh-lowest walks per game
average in NCAA DIII baseball, 0.98, through April 5th.
Moran's first weekly accolade came on March 16th after his
performance during the Monks' nine-game spring trip to Winter
Haven, FL.
St. Joe's will host Thomas College on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 PM
in a non-conference doubleheader and is set to take on Southern
Maine in Gorham on Thursday at 3:30 PM.
