STANDISH, ME - The 2009 GNAC Baseball Playoff pairings are now available. Saint Joseph's College earned the first seed with a 13-1 GNAC record and 25-10 record overall. The defending champion Monks begin their quest to win back to back GNAC titles with a quarterfinal contest, against either #4 Johnson & Wales or #5 Emerson, on Thursday at 5:00 PM at Larry Mahaney Diamond.

The Monks clinched first place in the conference with two wins over Suffolk on Saturday. The two teams entered the game tied for first place in the conference at 11-1 each, but with the win the Monks secured first, while the Rams earned the second place in the tournament with a 11-3 GNAC record and 24-7 overall record.

Six teams make the playoffs, with the first round of games starting on Wednesday, April 22nd. #3 Albertus Magnus will host #6 Lasell starting at 6:30PM at Quigley Stadium and #4 Johnson & Wales will host #5 Emerson starting at 6:15PM at Pierce Field.

Second-seeded Suffolk University will host the winner of #3 Albertus vs. #6 Lasell, on Thursday, April 23rd, time TBD.

St. Joe's will host the semifinals and finals on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. Game times on Saturday will be 10:00AM, 2:00PM, and 5:30PM. Game times on Sunday will be 12:00PM and 3:30PM (if necessary).
