Hendrix Chosen as GNAC Softball Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The GNAC weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior outfielder Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has been selected as the GNAC Softball Player of the Week.

Hendrix hit an even .500 (12-24) with 11 runs, four doubles, a triple, two home runs, 11 RBI and five stolen bases in eight contests last week. She posted otherworldly OBP (.586) and SLG% (1.000) marks as well and left Fort Myers riding a seven-game hitting streak, a stretch that includes four multiple-hit performances.

Through 10 games for the 8-2 Monks, Hendrix is batting .484 (15-31) with 12 runs, five doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI and five stolen bases. The senior standout ranks as the conference leader in doubles, homers, RBI, total bases (28) and slugging percentage (.903) and is currently second in the league in runs, hits and walks and third in steals and OBP (.568).

The GNAC Player of the Week award is a career first for the three-time All-Conference and GNAC All-Tournament honoree, who also collected Rookie of the Week acclaim on four occasions during the 2012 campaign.

A three-sport athlete at Saint Joseph's, Hendrix collected GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week mention on September 29th, 2014.

Saint Joseph's is scheduled to begin conference play with a pair of games at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday. First pitch for the opener is slated for 2:30 PM.
