SJC Sports Camps Offered this Summer

STANDISH, Maine – Several sports camps will be taking place on the Saint Joseph's College campus during the summer months.

JUNE 24 – 27: SUMMER BASKETBALL & SOCCER CLINICS (Ages 6-13)
Cost: Basketball Only ($100 per child), Soccer Only ($100 per child), All-Day Program ($200 per child)

The summer camp will focus on the fundamental skills of basketball and soccer. Monk Camps are committed to making you a better player. Our coaching staff includes some of the area's finest coaches and our camps are broken up by age and ability to ensure that each camper is being trained at the right level with the right players. Our goal is to challenge you every session but our objective is to increase each camper's playing skills and knowledge of the game while providing opportunities to experience and build confidence. But most of all, our objective is to have FUN!

JULY 15 – 18: BOYS LACROSSE CAMP
Cost: $280 per player

An instructional lacrosse camp with some recreational fun added in to truly enjoy the SJC campus on Sebago Lake. The coaching staff at SJC and current players will teach stick skills and concepts of the game at an age appropriate level. Drills will be differentiated so aged groups can be challenged in a comfortable setting. Includes camp reversible and lunch every day in Pearson's Café.

JULY 21 – 24: TWINIGHT BASEBALL CAMP (Ages 6-13)
Cost: $245 per camper

The Twinight Baseball Camp, the longest-running camp at Saint Joseph's, will take place at Larry Mahaney Baseball Diamond, July 21-24. Run by renowned Head Coach Will Sanborn'86, the Twinight clinic has been taking place for over 25 years and features the consistent emphasis of proper fundamentals designed to help players achieve success as they move on to higher levels of competition. The camp schedule includes drills and activities in the late afternoon and, following a nutritious meal in the SJC cafeteria, games played under the lights on the Monks' baseball and softball diamonds.

JULY 21 – 22: ELITE VOLLEYBALL OVERNIGHT CAMP (Grades 9 - 12)
Cost: $140 per camper ($100 for commuters)

Experience the beautiful campus of Saint Joseph's College of Maine, located right on the shores of Sebago Lake. This high level camp includes a lot of time in the gym but also leaves players time to enjoy the campus and provides activities that take advantage of our proximity to Sebago Lake. This two-day elite overnight camp is intended for high level players who are considering playing volleyball in college. These players should be entering 9th to 12th grade and already be able to compete at a high level with other competitive players.

The camp fee includes four meals (lunch & dinner on Sunday, breakfast & lunch on Monday), overnight lodging in a campus dorm room, and a camp tee-shirt.

JULY 22 – 26: SUMMER FIELD HOCKEY CAMP (Grades 7 - 12)
Cost: $350 per camper

This camp focuses on individual skill growth, speed and agility training and team building. We aim to provide athletes with the direction and support they need to reach their full potential with a variety of drills, games and activities. This five-day camp at Saint Joseph's College on Sebago Lake will offer coaching from the Saint Joseph's Filed Hockey Coaches and players. Lunch will be provided with some time built in to spend in the lake! We are eager to host you on our campus and show you the ins and outs what it take to win a championship!

JULY 23 & 25: MONKS VOLLEYBALL SETTER CLINIC (Grades 7 - 12)
Cost: $50 per camper

Players will receive high-level instruction and specific feedback on Setting Skills and Situations: including - footwork, technique, tempo sets, emergency moves, setter dumps and tips. On Thursday setters and hitters will combine sessions. You will become a better setter!

JULY 23 - 26: MONKS VOLLEYBALL HIGH SCHOOL DAY CAMP (Grades 7 - 12)
Cost: $150 per camper

Players will receive high-level instruction and specific feedback. Skills to be covered include: Serving, Passing, Attacking, Blocking, Individual and Team Defense, & Setting. All positions and skills will be covered with an emphasis on good fundamental techniques and developing an intentional and aggressive mindset. You will become a better player!

JULY 23 - 26: MONKS VOLLEYBALL FIRST CONTACT & BALL CONTROL CLINIC (Grades 5 - 12)
Cost: $50 per camper

Passing and Ball Control are the MOST important skills in volleyball!

Players will receive high-level instruction and specific feedback on passing technique, first contacts, and Ball Control. Skills will be covered with an emphasis on good fundamental techniques and developing an intentional and aggressive mindset. You will become a better player!

JULY 23 & 25: MONKS VOLLEYBALL HITTER CLINIC (Grades 7 - 12)
Cost: $50 per camper

High-level instruction and specific feedback on Hitting Skills and Situations: including -footwork, how to hit harder, hitting different tempo sets, shots and tips. On Thursday setters and hitters will combine sessions. You will become a better hitter!

JULY 28 – 30: SUMMER SOFTBALL CAMP (Ages 5 - 14)
Cost: $175 per camper

The Saint Joseph's College Softball program will be hosting their first Annual Summer Softball Camp.  The camp will focus on fundamentals, mechanics, and the mental aspect of the game of softball.  Players will get instruction from the dedicated and experienced members of the SJC Monks Softball community.  The camp will focus mainly on Softball, but there will also be other fun aspects involved including speed, agility, strength, and stamina. Lunch will be provided, and we will be incorporating time at our on-campus pool into our days!

AUGUST 5-9 / AUGUST 12-16: TAKE FLIGHT ALL-SPORTS CAMP (Ages 5-12)
Cost: $195 per child, per week

The Take Flight Academy All-Sports Camp, which is organized by the Saint Joseph's men's basketball program and Head Coach Rob Sanicola '99, offers two sessions: August 5-9 and August 12-16. The All-Sports Camp is designed to provide children opportunity to experience a wide range of sports. Through games, competitions, and challenges geared to the individual ability levels, campers learn skills for multiple sports, gain self-confidence and acquire a love of sports to match their talents and interests. Counselors are selected with extreme care. They reflect outstanding teaching ability and the desire to help develop campers into good citizens.

AUGUST 11: MEN'S BASKETBALL ELITE PROSPECT CAMP (Grades 9-12)
Cost: $100 per student-athlete

The Elite Prospect Camp is a great opportunity to work closely with Head Coach Rob Sanicola and his staff on the skills and fundamentals that are the building blocks to the St. Joe's Men's Basketball program's success. Designed for high school student-athletes who are serious about and motivated to play collegiate basketball, the camp will closely resemble what high-level college players go through daily in practice. Sessions will involve individual instruction, skill development, 3-on-3 and full court competition. Participants will be limited in number to ensure maximum individual attention

AUGUST 10: WOMEN'S SOCCER ELITE SUMMER PROSPECT CAMP (Grades 9-12)
Cost: $75 per student-athlete

The Saint Joseph's College Women's Soccer Camp is open to girls of high school age who are focused on playing college soccer at a competitive level. Spend the day with Head Coach Jenelle Harris, her coaching staff, players, and alumni in a competitive training environment at our new SJC Athletics Complex. Players will experience instruction in the same format as a college training session. The camp will include technical drills, possession, small-sided games, and competitive play. Also enjoy lunch, a Question & Answer session, optional campus tour, and time to speak individually with coaches.

AUGUST 10: MEN'S SOCCER ELITE PROSPECT CAMP (Grades 9-12)
Cost: $75 per student-athlete

Monks Soccer Camps will host a Prospect Camp for prospective high school students at its campus on Sebago Lake in Southern Maine. The event offers prospective students a chance to tour the Standish campus, attend information sessions on the application process and financial aid, enjoy lunch and have the opportunity to learn more about one of the more than 40 majors and programs offered. The camp is staffed by Head Coach Will Pike along with his assistant coaches, alumni and players. Players will experience instruction in a format very similar to a college practice session – allowing them to experience a practice structured at a higher level. The camp will include instruction in warm-up, possession, and an inner squad scrimmage.

AUGUST 25: BASEBALL INSTRUCTIONAL PROSPECT CAMP (Ages 15-19)
Cost: $125 per student-athlete

Saint Joseph's will also host a Baseball Instructional Prospect Camp August 25th. Open to any high school player aged 15-19 who is focused on playing baseball at the next level, the prospect camp is staffed by Head Coach Will Sanborn, his assistant coaches, alumni and players.  Participants will experience instruction in a format very similar to a college practice session.  The clinics will include instruction in hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, and pitching.

AUGUST 6: MEN'S LACROSSE PROSPECT CAMP (Grades 9-12)
Cost: $99 per student-athlete

The Prospect Camp provides interested student-athletes in high school to meet the SJC coaching staff, run through a typical practice at the collegiate level, compete with other student-athletes interested, and connect with current players on the team. Lunch in our dining hall and a campus tour will also be provided so that student-athletes are able to see what SJC is all about!
