STANDISH, Maine - The 2023 SJC Alumni & Friends Golf Classic, presented by SeaBee Electric and played at the Spring Meadow Golf Club in Gray, Maine on Friday, September 8th, was a rousing success.
In total, 32 groups of four - a total of 128 participants - with two pairings at each hole opening play with a shotgun start.
The day featured perfect weather, clear skies with temperatures in the 80's, with the event starting at 9:00 AM and ending at approximately 3:00 PM. Near the driving range a grill was set up where burgers and hot dogs were served throughout the event. An awards ceremony followed before the golfers departed having enjoyed a great day on the beautiful Spring Meadow greens.
The Annual SJC Alumni & Friends Golf Classic is one of the Athletics Department's largest and longest-running fundraisers, with all proceeds going toward various functions throughout the academic year. Funds from past tournaments have gone to multiple enhancements for our programs and facilities.
The 2023 Alumni & Friends Golf Classic netted over $30,000 - for the annual fundraiser.
