Fighting Scots Top Monks, 138-105

WENHAM, MA – Gordon College topped Saint Joseph's College, 138-105, in women's swimming action on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) highlighted the day with a top finish in the 1650-Free (20:55.23) event while sophomore Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) was the runner-up in the 200-Free (2:14.99) and 100-Free (1:01.60) races and first-year Danielle Charette (Westfield, Mass.) placed second in the 500-Free (5:57.22) and 50-Fly (31.63) competitions.

Other top performers included freshmen Erin Weir (North Andover, Mass.) and Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine), who placed as the runner-up in the 50-Back (33.19) and 50-Breast (36.61 – a NEISDA 'A' cut time) events, respectively.

Sophomore Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) also performed well and was the runner-up in the 100-Fly (1:14.11) race. Krasco also earned the first NEISDA 'A' cut of her career with a 2:31.67 time in the 200-Back and Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) did the same with a 36.61 effort and runner-up performance in the 50-Breast.

Saint Joseph's caps the 2013-14 season when the team competes in the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at University of Rhode Island, which begins on Friday, February 14th.
