Monks Compete in Husson University Relay Carnival

BANGOR, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's swimming teams competed in the Husson University Relay Carnival on Saturday. The event, which featured athletes from St. Joe's, Husson, Maine Maritime Academy, University of New England, and the University of Maine swim club, was of the non-scoring variety.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Elise Soucy (Saco, Maine), Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine), Evelyn Soule-Parent (Lyman, Maine), and Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) placed fourth in the 200-Medley (2:04.90)
  • Bri Letourneau (Lewiston, Maine), Hannah Murphy (Quakertown, Pa.), Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.), and Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) posted a fourth-place finish in the 200-Fly (2:19.71)
  • Podsiadlo, Soule-Parent, Twombly, and Matthews finished third in the 200-Free (1:53.19)
  • Soucy, Gracie Parker (Bar Harbor, Maine), Sam Miller (Gardiner, Maine), and Murphy placed sixth in the 200-Free (2:02.76)
  • Twombly, Berkley Hutchins (Springfield, Vt.), Soucy, and Podsiadlo posted a 4:46.51 time in the 400-Medley and finished second overall
  • Letourneau, Parker, Murphy, and Miller placed sixth in the 200-Back (2:21.77)
  • Soule-Parent, Matthews, Hutchins, and Twombly won the 200-Breast with a 2:28.67 performance
  • Emma Westgate (Sanford, Maine), Soucy, Thompson, and Parker finished fifth in the 200-Breast (2:48.96)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Shawn Perry (Plaistow, N.H.), Zachery Creekmore (New Fairfield, Conn.), Lucas Fendl (Ellsworth, Maine), and Eli Lind (Turner, Maine) finished eighth in the 200-Medley (2:01.99)

THE RUNDOWN – MIXED:

  • Perry, Hutchins, Fendl, and Matthews placed fifth in the 400-Medley (4:23.99)
  • Fendl, Matthews, Perry, and Twombly finished eighth in the 400-Free (4:00.67)
  • Lind, Letourneau, Parker, and Soucy placed 14th in the 400-Free (4:35.52)
