COMPLETE RESULTS | UPDATED RECORDS

For the Saint Joseph's men, four individuals competed in six events, collectively, during the three-day championship.

Junior Ben Johnson (Belmont, Mass.) became the first Saint Joseph's swimmer to qualify for the ECAC Championship with a 54.45 effort in a 100-Fly time trial on Saturday evening. Johnson capped the weekend with three top-10 finishes and a trio of team records, including the aforementioned 100-Fly time, in his possession.

Johnson finished seventh in the 100-Fly (54.76), eighth in the 50-Fly (25.19), and ninth in the 200-Fly with a team-record 2:03.24 performance.

Senior Andrew Merlino (Natick, Mass.) also enjoyed a banner weekend with three top-10 performances to his credit. The team co-captain set the program record with a 25.07 effort, and ninth-place finish, in the 50-Fly while finishing seventh in the 50-Back (26.59) and eighth in the 100-Fly (56.74) in the final NCAA meet of his career.

Senior Alexander Gilvey (Windham, Maine) advanced to the finals in three events, placing 10th in the 100-Back (57.25), 11th in the 50-Back (27.02), and 13th in the 200-Back (2:08.70).

Freshman Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.) also advanced to the 100-Fly final – along with Johnson and Merlino – and finished 13th with a 59.18 performance.

A pair of men's relay squads also registered top-10 places, as the 200-Medley – with Gilvey, Johnson, Merlino, and freshman Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) finishing eighth in the 200-Medley (1:43.72) and Johnson, Gryskwicz, Merlino, and Gilvey posting a ninth-place effort – and new team record - in the 800-Free (7:45.38).

The relay quartet of Merlino, Gryskwicz, Gilvey, and Johnson bested the team's previous 200-Free mark with a 1:32.52 effort in a time trial on Sunday.

The women scored in four different events, with junior Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) competing in the 1650-Free and 1000-Free races, placing 19th (20:01.40) and 22nd (12:02.90), respectively, and senior Brooke Huberdeau (Andover, Mass.) racing in the 1650-Free, finishing 22nd with a 20:07.67 effort.

Senior Allie Krasco (Melrose, Mass.), senior Annie Fougere (Warner, N.H.), freshman Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine), and Huberdeau registered the women's top finish with a 13th-place effort, and 4:40.43 time, in the 400-Medley relay on Friday evening.

Halvorsen, sophomore Leia Berube (Brewer, Maine), Rowlett, and Huberdeau swam in the 800-Free relay and finished 15th with a 9:13.96 time.

Halvorsen, Fougere, junior Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine), and Huberdeau finished 16th in the 400-Free relay with a 4:11.56 performance.

Krasco, Fougere, Huberdeau, Rowlett, Halvorsen, and Prue participated in three preliminary events apiece over the weekend.

"The hard work that this team has put in all season has been tremendous," adds first-year Head Coach Margaret Howe. "It's clear that their efforts paid off and were showcased this past weekend at the NEISDA Championships."

The completion of the annual regional championship capped the collegiate career for the Monks' five seniors: Fougere, Huberdeau, Krasco, Gilvey, and Merlino. All five are four-year members of the SJC swim program and will undoubtedly be missed.
