Women Split Double-Dual on Senior Day

STANDISH, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College women's swim team split a double-dual meet with Husson University and Gordon College at the Harold Alfond Center Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Monks defeated the Eagles, 136-122, and suffered a 156-92 at the hands of the Fighting Scots.

Prior to the start of the event, the SJC swim program held a brief ceremony to honor the Monks' four seniors: Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine), Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine), Erin Weir (North Andover, Mass.), and Brittany Dalphonse (Coventry, R.I.). All four have made an impact on the program and will be missed in future seasons.

On the men's side, the Monks picked up their first victory of the season with an 89-80 triumph over Husson University and fell to Gordon College by a 155-61 score.

Sophomore Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) set a new program record with a 19:07.30 effort in the 1650-Free, breaking the mark formerly held by Chris Cullity who previously held the standard with a 19:15.54 time (1/19/13).
