STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's & women's swim teams hosted Maine Maritime Academy at the Harold Alfond Pool on Saturday. The men fell by a 144-40 margin and the women suffered a 123-59 setback.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- First-year Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) placed first in the 100-Free (57.24)
- Freshman Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) won the 200-IM (2:32.57)
- Sophomore Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) won the 500-Free (5:51.01) and was second in the 50-Breast (36.85)
- Sophomore Rylie Perron (Wells, Maine) finished fourth in the 200-Free (32.61) and 50-Back (32.52)
- Sophomore Eliza Nadeau (Raymond, Maine) was third in the 100-Free (1:13.91) and fifth in the 50-Free (33.28),
- Sophomore Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.) placed third in the 50-Breast (38.91) and fifth in the 200-IM (2:57.99)
- Senior Hannah Kibbin (Augusta, Maine) finished fifth in the 50-Breast (41.81)
- Podsiadlo, Thompson, Twombly, and Matthews kicked off the event with a 2:05.23 time, and first-place finish, in the 200-Medley Relay
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Senior Ryan Watson (Glenburn, Maine) won the 1650-Free (19:08.14) and placed fourth in the 100-Fly (1:13.37)
- Freshman Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) won the 200-Free (2:05.85) and placed third in the 100-Free (55.10)
- Sophomore Shawn Perry (Plaistow, N.H.) was second in the 100-Fly (1:06.77) and third in the 200-Free (2:08.50)
- Senior Michael Hagerty (Yarmouth, Maine) placed third in the 50-Free (25.95) and fourth in the 50-Back (37.10)
- Senior Camden Thaxter (Yarmouth, Maine) finished fourth in the 200-IM (2:30.47) and fifth in the 50-Back (32.68)

The Monks are off until they compete in the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on February 4th, 5th, and 6th at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Mass.
